Default Exporting Routes

I have a 14 Ultra - 6.5 Boom system. Have gotten pretty good with this thing and can do almost anything I need/want to. Here is my question.

I know when plotting a trip on Ride Planner - I can export the trip to my flash drive and then import it to my bike. That works with no problems.

So, I decided to route a trip on the bike in hopes of exporting that trip to a flash drive and see the route on my computer. Here is what I did...created the route - using scenic route preferences. I then looked at the route on the bike and it was all that I wanted.

Next, I saved the bike route and named it Picnic. Went to the menu - found the route and exported it to my flask drive.

I know the route was on the drive - because I can see it. However, when I go to ride planner to import the route, it says route not found. I tried to read the route on Mapsourse and Base Camp too - no luck

Has anyone else had any luck with this?

Thanks

Send me the GPX route and I see if I can open it.

Don -

I know you read my posts. Have you tried Route Converter?

Also, you can view the content of the GPX file using WordPad. That should confirm the saved waypoint list for your routing.

Hey Dave - of course, I read all fo your post.

I continued to try to resolve the mattr. Plotted a trip in ride planner - saved it to my flash drive. Then, I imported that trip to my bike. Next, I took a different flash drive and exported that trip. I was able to load it onto ride planner.

What I still can not do it design a trip in ride planner and lost that to me PC. I will make a quick trip on the bike and send it to you.

Thanks

I haven't tried moving a route created on the bike back to my PC, but if you send me the file, I'll look at it & see what it really contains & report back to you. I have the Nightrain with me this trip so I can't look at it myself using the bike.

Bottom line - does not work. He mentioned it is covered in the new 2016 Boom bookletl but indicated there may be some computer issues with the route being accepted.

I responded by saying - perhaps Ride Planner will update their route - allowing you to use a scenic or twisty preference - this way ride planner and the bike are doing the same thing.

Nope. File only contained 1 set of gps coordinates: location was where (I assume) the bike was sitting at the time. Rest of the data did not represent normal gpx file route data.
