Actually not bad. I did all the work myself, and this was right at my 1000 mile service interval. So I already had to drain the fluids. Just had to buy a few extra gaskets, the fork rebuild kit, and some fork oil. (I like the heavy oil better anyways)
I paid a little over $400 for all of the powder coat.
Here is what it looked like a few days ago.

I am going to try a roll of black pinstripe tape first. If that doesn't satisfy me I will have someone stripe over it with paint.

I don't know why they would mess up a perfect black bike with pinstripes. I feel your pain. I hate my pinstripes also. But I like chrome on it. Different strokes,,,,,,,,,
