I missed out on a beautiful cop Electra Glide. I was warned that they may not have a lot of miles but have a lot of run time idling. Wish I bought it.

We've been going back and forth quite a bit, I started emailing him through Craigslist and now have his actual info.

Is a lot of idling time bad?

This one had Rushmore bags without the hockey pucks on top. I would absolutely grab a civilian model, but they are at least 4-5K more. Down the road that might be an option, but for my first bike I think this will be a good fit.

Here's some photos:

Normally I'd say go for it, but 3,000 on a training bike is a LOT of abuse. I'd equate that to 30,000 of street use.

That's what I wasn't sure about. It was at a motor cop training academy. Who knows what the training was, if it was highway enforcement and the miles are from that it isn't a huge deal, but if it was all beating the **** out of the bike than its different. In the end though how bad could a bike be at 3k? He said it goes to the service department and they go through all of it

I've bought 3,an 86fxrp,an 04 roadking, and now a 13 roadking. Here's the thing with training bikes, clutch (takes a severe beating),rear brakes also are hammered. The clutch is usually replaced and or adjusted regularly it also has the SE spring so be ready for that. The rear brakes are used constantly in low speed manuvers against the clutch. If those are right then no problem and despite those things jump on it,cops do not put up with anything on their motors if it spits its fixed right and quick.
