Interesting (but makes sense). Ever thought of stuffing it in some kind of cooling thingy such as the ones for a wine bottle? Could put a towel on the inside to prevent any condensation water damage to the phone (and probably around the outside so it doesn't moisten the TP.

Or you could come here. We currently have 56° F! I kid you not!! It snowed and many passes had to be closed due to too much snow. But then again, why would that be unusual since I'm posting this here in November. Oh... wait...

Have the same problem with the Road Glide. Phone shows that its charging when I plug it in, but when im done riding the battery is right about the same level. This cord worked perfect on the other bike, will swap it out and try again.

I removed my lighter plug from the fairing, and swapped it out with a dual usb plug Similar to what Cobra1 put in his tourpack(ebay, like 3 bucks, and the plug stays in unlike the lighter cover from Harley), with 2.1 amps on each port.

I have been using this cable for over a year doesn't get pinched in the media door and keeps my phone charged.

The cord I was using before was only 6" long, I dont close the door when its beng used, and the phone is mounted on the handlebars. The new cord that plugs into the Power Outlet on the right side of the fairing, that works much better now.

I use Google Maps mostly, It does use data but if you happen to go out of coverage, the map is saved onboard and still usable.

I also have the Garmin Navigon (North America) app... I got it for my dad, but i was able to download it too.. its too expensive but it works pretty good when planning trips and multiple waypoint planning for rides... I wish Google Maps would allow one to select their own routes using waypoints somehow. I use it all the time at work and on the bike, so...

The android app just got an update a few days ago which gives you exactly that now. Just like on a computer when using the website. iOS will follow later, at least that is my understanding. I don't do isomething.
