Talking Started with a stock windshield ended with the cheapest MOD Ive done

If you are short like me and your windshield is too tall, this is the thread you need to see.

I just cut my windshield off with a $9.00 cutting blade from Lowes. It all started out with me going to the HD store and getting fitted for a screen. The guy told me I needed a 14" screen and I just did not want to pay the 400plus for it. So I went to rifle.com and found out I can get one for pretty cheap. But that wasn't enough, since I needed to change it anyway, I didn't care if I ruined the stock windshield so I started.

Nice work! I like that way of thinking...nothing to lose. Why have a windshield that too tall sit in the corner of your shop collecting dust?

I cut my wifes windshield down a few weeks ago as well but I used a cutoff wheel in my die grinder. Worked well.

Great job on the cut. I like how you did it. Are you going to polish the edge now?

I took a file to the rought cuts and then after I was satisfied I finished with the orbital sander and sanded it to a very nice finish. It looks like it was done at the factory. Very easy to do mod.

even easier on a batwing, cut the bottom and no sanding or polishing.
