idle noises and erratic behavior

No, I am quite familiar with that. It is a rough idle but not in a sense of missing or else. It is hard to describe. I guess I will go down 5 miles to the HD dealership here to let them take a look.

OR, maybe your bike is acting funny so the dealer can fix all that.

Took it to the dealership and yes, it is normal and it is a product of the new cam and the other things they did to fight the heat. It does idle a bit rougher than my 12 103 engine but the 12 103 engine is considerably hotter. So mystery solved and I am a happy camper again.

I had the same unsettling issue/question when I first bought my bike almost 2 years ago. Best way I can say it, was a "stumble" in the idle and unsettling noise.
Dealer said it was normal.
However for me it is due to the heat management system turning off the rear cylinder plus the lean run condition in closed loop mode.
I did do a few simple mods, added XIEDs and decatted.
I also disabled the Heat Management System. Your owners manual says its for rider comfort, I didnt find it comforting!
In your owners manual are instructions on how to turn it off.
Takes only seconds by rolling the throttle forward. You can turn it off and on at anytime or just leave it off, as I do now.
