Watching to see how this goes. I'm looking hard at a set of 12" Vindikas.

Super easy install and you don't need any extensions. Like others have said, you need to cut a couple of zip ties to free up some slack. The below video is really all you need to understand how to do it.

Take your time pulling the cables. I depinned the TBW connector like in the video and had no issues.

Go slow, put a towel over the gas tank, and get it done. I pulled the bars in about an hour on a Friday night, ran all the wires in about an hour the next morning and installed the bars in about an hour as I put everything together then found out my bars hit my Klockwerks shield at full stop, so had to pull them back a bit.

bars are my next item for my 2016 RGU.
I like the HD Chizeled look.
really don't want to replace cables or add wire extensions.
but i would like to install heated grips.
Looking at 12" malos.

why do you wish 12s now instead of 14s?

I have not received the bars yet. I knew it took a while to get em so I'm willing to wait for them.

What's the issue with the 14's?

Very easy install. Follow the video. Everything is tight but it will fit.
It took almost 3 months for my 14" malo bars but they look sweet and feel even better.
It's worth the wait. I almost wish I went with the 16s.
