Changed back to formula+ Not liking it
I changed to redline Heavy shock proof in the trans last service and it was quitter. And used the red line primary oil, the primary oil seem to let the clutch slip a couple times and the comp was louder so I immediately change back to formula+ and all was good.
Because the red line didn't work foe me in the primary it kinda left a bad tast for the red line products and I had read that the additives can fall out of the oil and build up behind gears and cause issues. So this service I changed the trans back to formula+ with more gear clunk and overall louder trans. Has anyone had issues using the heavy shock proof over extended time and a lot of miles??

Switched from Syn3 to Redline Shockproof in my trans and really could tell a difference in 5th gear wine. Much quieter. SHifting seemed a little less clunky
Had to get the shaft and primary seals replaced at the dealer and they replaced the trans fluid with Syn3 (no shockproof on hand, should have brought my own)
Anyway now its back to being louder and it starting to annoy me. Should switch back but sucks since I hate to waste $$ since I already paid for the Syn3.
Anyway, Baker used to recommend Shockproof for their transmissions. (they recommend a different brand now but I think that's because they got it custom spec'd for them) Either way its enough proof for me.

I've used Severe Gear 75w/90, 75w/110 and 75w140 in my trans and I like the 75w/140 the best. Smoother shifting and more quiet. Same weight as the Red Line gear oil...I think.
