Default Rear sproket

Getting ready for my trip later this month, and while inspecting my drive belt, I noticed that one tooth on the sprocket was gouged. Am talking about the metal sprocket. Is this a warranty item or is it considered a maintenance item?

Also checked my heated grips this morning and they start to heat up on two but then just stop working. Turning them all the way up didn't do a thing.

Rock probably caused problem with sprocket. You could try and clean up the damaged teeth with a Dremel and grinding bit if its real bad. Doubt if MOCO covers damage to sprocket teeth from unknown debris.

Default yea

That's what I was thinking also, but would ask to be sure. The sprocket is about $242, yuck.,

You can actually smooth with a file and fill any gouge on the sprocket with JB Weld and it will be ok.

Your belt though... check every tooth out. May have been damaged as well.

I also bought the tire insurance. since the sprocket is part of the wheel, maybe it might be included in the insurance.,

Default stupid is as stupid does

Drove up to the dealer in the rain and showed them the nail and told them to look at my sprocket. They replaced the tire under the hazard tire warranty for $50 deductible and didn't mention anything about the knick on the sprocket.

Stupid me forgot to ask them to look at the heated grips so that goes to the next visit. The radio cut out 3 times on the way home as it has done in the past also, and I forgot about that also because it has not happened for a while. oh well.
