No,I think it still is a plunger switch inside switch housing (front) not sure on rear. Thought about filing the switch down but got used to it. Have a 16 tri glide in the work shop for some upgrades and decided to check lever travel when light comes on. My ultra comes on at 3/8", the tri glide comes on at 1/4", 1/8 " difference, so there is some variation out there. Mike

Mine does NOT do that,, soon as my brake light engages, the cruise shuts off. This I am pretty darned sure of....

I agree with Rolla Mo. Our 2 Rushmore's both disengage with little effort.
Try the test below and see if it woks for you. The first is 2015 touring Elect. Diagnostic manual, 2nd is 2008.

I just checked my 14 SGS based on the test procedures above. Deactivation requires quite a bit of lever travel on front, rear as well as clutch. Sure seems to be pressure related deactivation to me.

Spent a little more time on researching this today. rode my friends 16 today and seemed pretty normal as some describe. road my 16 after and not quite as sensitive as the other bike but not nearly as bad as my 14 and some other 14's in this thread.I think the common denominator is 14's. I had rode a friends 14 when mine was new and did the same. Looking at the service manual the front switch is in the switch pack. I checked the switch part numbers and 71500130 now is a 71500130b. That may be the difference. The rear uses a pressure switch. I am use to rolling off the throttle because the 14 was so awful and had not noticed the 16 was better. Still would like some of the problem bikes to measure lever travel and see. Mike

Mines a 14 and definitely takes more pressure than I would like when using the front brake lever.

The rear is better but to be honest I've gotten used to rolling the throttle now....

Didnt read all the replys but ..

Im a new guy to the Ultra limited. I always red my book. The manual says twist the throttle forward then back a bit. ... but the brakes should be also disengaging the cruiz
