People including myself had to reinact forests famous cross country run. There's a small sign one of the Indian tribes erected, that says "This is where Forest Gump stopped running"
Thanks, this is one of the roads I wanted to ride while out there but didn't know which one it was. I am staying in the big popular hotel in monument valley, so I guess I need to ride north then back south to get the best view. How far north would I need to go to get to the sign?

Are you staying in Kayenta AZ or Bluff UT either way it's in between those two towns from Bluff you will see Mexican Hat on the left if you want to get close to it ride 1/2 mile off road then get back on the road to ride to the Monument Valley and from Kayenta it's opposite. Also four corners is a good place to be in four states at the same time while try some Indian fried bread.

The OP's pictures have to be the same ones on so many visitors camera's. lol

We rode through Red Rock Canyon, Zion, Bryce, Capital Reef, Monument Valley (via the Moki Dugway), stayed overnight in the valley, then on to Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, and Vegas.

The weather was almost perfect for motorcycling, although by sundown it starting getting a little chilly.
(notice the lack of traffic in the pictures)

It's a ride to make any biker smile. We had a great week, with excellent weather. Not a drop of rain the whole trip.

These are called 'The Mittens' because, well, that's what they look like.

For the past 5 years I've been going out to Salt Lake City and riding with three others all over Utah, Colorado (my birthplace) Wyoming, Idaho, Montana and this year we are headed north to hit Canada. Every time I've been to Monument Valley (twice) it's been raining. If you've never made it to Utah or Colorado, you need to plan a trip!!

I cant remember exactly but its on the right side of the road within a couple miles after leaving Mexican Hat. Its not far off of the main road, maybe 25' or so. Im not sure what the other poster was saying about having to take another road. If you stop at the hotel in Mexican Hat and ask, they should be able to tell you.

Forrest Gump sign outside of Mexican Hat.

A warning that made my wife look at me and say you really want to hike this?
