Default Odometer Switch Issues

Filled up with fuel today, switched the bike on and the odometer display displays the word 'diagnose', but nothing else. switched bike off and back on, message gone, displays total mileage, but won't toggle thru.
rode home, connected the powervision, no DTC's stored...
I had the whole switch assembly replaced once under warranty already, bike is two months out of warranty, so this one is on me if its the switch again.
anyone have any other ideas?

Mine did the exact same thing. Left switch pack was the fix!

I had one installed after only having my bike for a little over a month. Seems like this is a common issue. If your warranty is just barely up, and you already had it replaced once, I'd talk to the dealer and see what he can do for you.

I agree with jlasoftal. My bet is they will replace again if that is the problem

Mine stopped working after 2 months. That being said, if you hold down that button and turn the bike on and keep holding it, it takes you into diagnose mode where you can check codes.

switch packs are a well known issue talk with your dealer, slim chance but worth a try.

Thanks everyone for the responses. i'm going to talk to the dealer today. sounds like this is known issue, i home that they will just fix it, or at least cut me a deal...
considering the cost of just the oem switch, i might just bite the bullet and add the lighted switches. but i wonder if i should expect the same future issue with the lighted switch pack?

I'm headed out on a 4,000 trip to see my daughter in Nebraska next month, she is stationed at Offutt AFB, and i don't want to have to deal with anymore functions of this switch failing, especially the horn, lights & cruise control.

went to my local dealer, bike was off warranty feb 28th, so no wiggle room on the warranty. switch was replaced once under warrenty, but just over a year ago, so no coverage there either. they were more than happy to replace it for $210 + $60 for labor...
I brought it home, opened it up, and dried it out, sprayed it with a bunch of wd40, we will see if that helps.
Both times that this switch failed was after riding in heavy rain storms. guess it doesn't like the rain. after this i will have to leave it parked in bad weather and ride my BMW, it doesn't seam to mind the weather.

nightrain116, i sent you a pm...

Spray it with "electric contact" cleaner. However, I tried that and it did not work. Order one online.
