Are the catalytic converter in the slip-on mufflers or in the header on the Rushmore bikes? Get both answer when ask?? Thank you, JC

I don't have a Rushmore bike , but have a 13 RKC with the 103 and the cats are in the headpipe.

It is in the header right where the two join to one collector then split again. In front of 02 sensors. This is from the back weld shows where trap door was cut to dig converter out then weld shut.

Seems slike for alignment and reinstallation the "trap door" method would work better, less chance of things not lining back up.

That was How I did it. was not hard to do nothing to line up I took mine off did it from the back. I did see where one rider did it from the front never took header off. Worked for him but did not sit well with me. No madder what anyone says you are not getting it all out with a drill.

Great pic! I actually never knew what it looks like. I had mine taken out at the shop as I have no welder. I can see why that might be a little restrictive.

I beg to differ on that statement. After a couple hours of drilling, chipping, and a few beers I got ALL of mine out without cutting anything on it. But then again, I'm one of those type that if you tell me it can't be done, I will find a way to get it done one way or the other.

My 2010 FLHTC had the cat in the pipe. The 2009 models were in the muffler.
