Not the most obvious, but you can see the hole in each corner
Little more obvious
Everything laid out. I removed & tapped into the 'cigarette lighter' for the power source and used a simple rocker switch.
Lights stuck in place and 12v power reinstalled
I used the dual-lock type fastener for the switch. I planned on mounting it to the 12v accessory, but that placed the switch really low and cumbersome to operate. Meh, the speaker port suits me fine.
Liner slid back in place.
In the garage with all the lights turned off. Ignition set to accessory to where the Electra Glo bag lights & tourpack side lights are on. These aren't the brightest LED's, but they do OK inside the black tourpack. Should be just enough light to keep the wife happy. Otherwise, I can run the other set on the lid without too much difficulty.
NEW for 2015 is our new Mega Brite 2 pc LED Module Strips! 3 LED chip design in a row, mounted on an alumimium plate offer a strong and bright design. Up to 10 times brighter than our previous 8 pc kit and half the price! We have some of the older round type 8 pc kits left on closeout (while supplies last in Red, Green, & Yellow). Work on any 12 volt DC charging system- no battery needed! Use less than 1 amp- almost nothing!! Available in 5 hot colors: red, blue, green, yellow, & white. Super popular on Cycles, Choppers, and snowmobiles.
I found some battery powered / stick ons at Home Depot -- placed one on the uphill side of the TP lid --- Put one in mine and one in the wife's ---works awesome !!
Yeah, looks like the round white leds are no longer available. That sucks because your idea is pretty slick and I was going to copy it. LOL! Not sure if I like the "new" lights they have. Although the same sort of installation could be done. Except I would have to cut out an oval/oblong shape instead of the neat round hole for each light. I'll keep lookiing but I really like your install. Great idea and great job!
