Had the '12 Limited and loved it then got the '14 limited and was night and day. I just picked up the '16 limited CVO and cant believe the difference again..

Liberator, I have a 2014 Rushmore Ultra Classic I bought new. Now has 60,000 miles. Only problem I had with the M/C was the
water pump went out on a trip to Laconia, NH. about 500 miles from home in Louisiana. Made the trip anyway with no problems.
Actually would not have known I had a problem except for a light that stayed on. This has been the best M/C I have ever owned. Being
66 years old and having motorcycles since I was 7 years old I have gone through a lot of motorcycles. HD been the only ride since 1972.
I have done a lot of work and additions to this machine since I have had it but it was because I wanted to. Changed suspension to drop
2". Added a Yelvington reverse (never will be without a reverse again since this add on). Added a Recluse clutch last year just to name a
few add on. I plan to go to Sturgis this year then east to Laconia. This will be an additional 7,000 miles and next summer I plan to go from
NW Louisiana to Alaska. That is how dependable this bike is. I know this bike inside out and do all servicing myself.

Welcome, my new friend.

This thread is over four years old. I hope he's decided by now.

Yeah, the OP's last activity was March of 2016 when he posed this question....

So...there's about a $7k difference between these bikes and i'm also worried about any first year major model changes of the rushmores.

Really love opinions from anyone who's had experience with both pre-rushmore and rushmore ultra classics.
go for the 14!!
