I'm in the "if you can afford the Rushmore, then do it" crowd.

I traded an. O6, and there are mounds of changes for the better, from the frame change in 09 to the front forks in 14, plus the redesigned fairing, new radio, the bag lids, the AWESOME LED Headlights, and last but not least the HO 103 is simply kick ***!

This bike is not even in the same class as the 06. It is truely an different some machine. I will say they are not perfect, and some mods will be needed to make her your own.

Went from a '12 CVO Ultra to a '16 RGU. The Roadie runs circles around the older CVO. Rushmore's the real deal. If you can afford it, get it.

Wait a little while and the difference in prices between used Rushmore Harley's and pre-Rushmore Harley's will only become greater. The more folks learn about the Rushmore versions the harder it will be to sell anything that came before.

Truth be told all the coolant dump things scare me about the Limited and don't really feel like paying THAT premium too right now.

Anyway, heat shouldn't be much of an issue as this certainly won't be a commuter bike as my new job is work at home mostly so there shouldn't be constant stop and go nightmare. Even so I have other bikes to do that when it's hot as hell here in VA and would take the Deuce to Rolling Thunder anyway (LOT of heat issues for bikes in that run.)
I have a '16 Road Glide Special - air-cooled. Compared to the '10 Limited I was riding before, heat is the same (if not a little better).

IF...you are a serious rider...
I'll bet, once you drop the cash (which still ain't cheap) on the pre-14 non 'rush, there won't be a day go by that you won't be wishing you'd gone all the way and got a Rushmore. They ARE that good. Just say'n

Just re-stating what many others have. I went form a 2012 ultra classic to a 2015. I was hesitant, but have not looked back since. I've been riding Harley's for just over 30 years. The Rushmore is simply the best bike I have ever owned period. I wouldn't go back for anything.
