Thanks for all the great replies guys. As half of the reason to pickup an Ultra is the wife I think the extra passenger seating of a Rushmore might be a big plus as well as the improved air management (and I'm 6'1"). She's pretty sensitive to little annoyances like being too hot or too cold, not having the ability to shift around, etc. so I better get it right or risk her just not wanting to ride at all.

I have the low model and the seat is cut 1" lower. I'm inly 5'6" so the air goes way over my head and right into hers, lol. A recurve windshield fixed that problem, now between the vent and the recurve the air goes over both of our heads. She loves all the room back there and we have the trunk pushed all the way up to the front(the trunk is adjustable). We are not that big though, maybe 320 lbs for both of us though.

Rushmore without any question, if you were to test ride both of them you'd have an obvious winner in my opinion which would be the 14. Good luck

Front suspension and steering is better on the Rushmore.Ride a pre-Rushmore and then a Rushmore and feel the difference.

I had a '12 Limited and now have a '14 Limited. You couldn't give me my old bike back if it meant getting rid of my '14. No regrets whatsoever trading up. I would pay the extra premium for the Rushmore all day long.

I've had 4 touring bikes before this 14 Limited.
I find the 14 'OK' and a little better than the last. Not sure it's 7K better though. That's because this one has been trouble since day one. Probably feel different if it wasn't.

I own both .............. granted I've only had my Rushmore for 6 months but as of now I'd say save some money and go with the earlier ride. I'm a big guy so speak of suspension is mute to me. My limited has the same shocks as my 14' SGS (Yes, 12" Premium hand adjustable) and I see no wonderful effects. The bells and whistle Boom/Nav just ain't all it's hopped up to be IMO, matter of fact it's a PITA. It could be so much more user friendly. If it wasn't for the SG styling I'd be more than happy to stick with my 12' Limited and never look again. The added performance of the Rushmore is again minimal in my opinion. I have stage 1 on both bikes. The SGS has my 12' out of the hole but the top end goes to my Limited. The 14 is the clear winner in handling but again not enough to be paying all that added money.

I added a Freedom Sheild on my pre-Rushmore made all the difference in the world. The good thing about them is you can test it as long as you don't take the plastic coating off the front you can send it back for a different height until you're comfortable for what you're looking for. With all that said I would go with the Rushmore!

Having gone from a 2010 Limited to a 2016 (Rushmore) Road Glide, I'd never look back. Granted, it is somewhat cross-platform, but I looked long and hard at a 2016 Street Glide too, and had the same opinion - I'd never look back.

I truly loved my Deuce, but you are very apples and oranges there. The windshield on the Deuce didn't hold a candle to the 2010, so there's really no comparison. The Road Glide does about as well with a shorter shield, props to the air, but as stated - I wouldn't let that be the deciding feature.
