I'm pretty good friends with the owner of the shop I bought mine from, plus I added a lot of toys but he showed me $12,500 for my trade (blue book was $8.7k) and then sold me the RGU at MSRP. He also gave me free labor on my upgrades.

I don't know if he'd give that deal to everyone, but it might give you an idea as to what kind of room they have to move on these bikes.

Basically the first real offer I have is 28500 otd on the bike. That includes my stage 1 w/ full exhaust, dyno time, and a headset.

Guess I'm kind of weighing a good deal with parts vs a good deal of just the bike.

I got a fully loaded Road King For less MSRP OTD. About 18500 icluding 9.5% sales tax and DMV fees No special friends needed. See if you can get MSRP OTD. Dont get hung up with all the set up fees and shipping. Those can all be calculated with your OTD price. You will eventually get a dealer that will accept your price. A high volume dealer is more willing to sacrifice bike sales because they make it up in other areas like clothing, service, and whatever.

Was that a dig?

So you got a "fully loaded" stock Road King for MSRP out the door without any special friends...

So what you're saying is you got about $1700 bucks off of a Road King... (18,500 less the sales tax and $100 or so for DMV fees...) I guess it doesn't sound as impressive without the dig...

BTW that deal isn't nearly as good outside the left coast where sale tax isn't 9.5%

Also, if you have a trade that eats up the sales tax that deal isn't good at all...

Consider that when you're comparing prices from people, MSRP out the door in PA 3.5% more money than it is in CA

My suggestion- forget what everyone else paid for their bike.

Look at what you and your wife want - get something you like and are comfortable with and then move on.

I promise you - no matter how much or how little you pay, someone here will tell you they got a better deal

Here let me put this in perspective

Vivid Black $18,449
Color Option $18,899
Two-Tone Option $19,249
CustomColor Option $19,449
Security Option $395
Wheel Option $510
ABS Option $795
Cruise Control Option STD
California Emissions $200
Freight $435

Color Option $18,899
Security Option $395
ABS Option $795
California Emissions $200
Freight $435

Totals to 20724.
Sales tax of 9.5% equals out to 22692. Plus the usual DMV and setup fees that bring it almost to 24-25K. Set up fees are about 800-1000 plus 500-600 for dmv fees. Depending on how much you buy it for. Every state is different on how they calculate fees.

The OTD price is about 24-25K here when I was shopping at the 5 plus dealerships near me in NORCAL Bay Area

Went to San Diego and Got it for 18500
Please tell me again how I got ripped off??

Bike was sold to me at invoice. which is roughly over 15000. The dealership I went to was a high volume dealership. They had a separate warehouse where they stored over 500 plus bikes every single model of bike they carried in every color combination you wanted to see. If you asked for it they had it in stock. I told them I was willing to drive over 500 miles if you got me a bike at this price.

Street Glide and Road Glide specials were selling for 26K OTD here in NorCal. I could have got one for about 2K more if I wanted to.

I dont need special friends to get a good deal. I just need to find a dealer that is willing to sell me a bike at a price that I wanted.
