Street Glide/Road Glide Fairing Lowers Pros/Cons
#12
I live in Arizona, doesn't get much hotter anywhere. That said I have had them on last 3 Harleys, 06, 09, & 16 wouldn't ride without them. Like said keeps rider much more comfortable and I believe they direct air over motor better. Unless you get the real old style, they have vents to open and close as weather permits. Have never wanted to remove them and with wethead now I can't anyway. 100% pleased with my lowers.

The lowers work great for me and for all the reasons mentioned above. I tried the soft lowers and while they did work, they were like placing a barn door on the front of the bike. They act like air brakes on an aircraft. I am pretty sure that I'll be selling them since I plan on keeping the hard ones.

I live here in Louisiana I recently placed a set on my 2014 flhsx and love the results... less wind noise, and less wind blasting me in the face. I like the idea of reflecting a blast of air on my cylinders. I don't like having more surface to clean the Louisiana bugs off after a days riding.

Sold!!! Thanks for all the feedback. Ordering from Boardtrack. Takes 30 days after the 3 day processing period which kinda stinks. BUT will be patient and guess it's worth the wait for 20% off.
Does anyone know why you can't use the "quick disconnect kit"' if you're planning on mounting speakers in them?
