mcouture - how far out of warranty?

Since theis has indeed been a problem, I might suggest your call your dealer and see if they can get it replaces. I also suggest you go with the lighted pack (unless that have fixed the originals).

Finally, if all else fails, post a notice on the wanted forum - several guys have changed theirs ad have the originals.

Good luck

Got back to the house and detailed the bike. Needed it..bad. Ain't been washed in 7 months.

Get on the bike to go fuel up today, and the damned odometer switch is not working. ( I like to see the future predicted on how far I can get on a tank.)

DaFuq? Back to garage and take apart the switch housing, make sure everything is buttoned up, dry, which it is, Canbus switches ohm out correctly etc. Everything is back together and I'm banging on the switch like (With my thumb) and it starts to work. Retarded and slow, but works. Any who, turn bike off, banging on the switch still and it goes into diag mode. Done went and got learned new stuff. Turn it off, and keeps going into diag mode. Eventually get it out, and switch no longer works again.

I did see a guy with a CVO and had to same issues, and had it replaced under warranty. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/screa...roadglide.html

Now my question is.. If you actually took the time to read all that brain scatter and got this far.. How many have had problems with the ODO switch? Because, really Harley, what a way to poop on my day. I was all excited about everything today.
That's normal, they all do that.

Yeah, seems like the MoCo has a problem making their little whizz-bang (Cheap Chinese crap) switches waterproof. I've read on other threads that flooding them with WD-40 is a fix that works. Ya might want to give that a try before letting some brain-dead dealer "tech" touch your bike.

Don't know if the optional lighted switches are any better, most likely not, but FWIW I haven't had any trouble with mine since I installed them - and they look cool too, so there's that...

Good luck,

JP

You already added your mandatory anti-Harley cry baby post to this thread last year. Maybe you forgot.

Oh my goodness no, the MoCo could NEVER make something as simple as a cheap, replaceable button (any more). Now ya gotta buy the whole switch pack, something like $200, but at least it DOES come with a mind-blowing 90 day warranty!! What more could ya ask?

Ain't MoCo-style "progress" great??
