Default Paint vrs. Powdercoated wheels?

I want to do my wheels Gloss black. Has anybody powder coated thiers ? Or know if the 400 degrees powder coating affects the hole for the bearings or the wheel?
I don't see a lot of powder coated wheels like chrome but I don't and Think maybe there's a reason?

I powdercoated my last set black; they held up great. Much stronger than paint. I wouldn't do gloss though; once the tires get dirty the contrast looks like ***. I did semi gloss and it looked really good. I can text you pics if you'd like to see for yourself.

They do make chrome powdercoat if that's what you're asking. It looks ok, but nowhere near what real chrome looks like.

Powder coating will hold up a lot better. If proper masking is done, it should not hurt the bearing recess, if needed just install new bearings.

You will need to strip your bearings out more for proper prep than anything. For the powder coat to stick properly, you either have to sandblast or dip the wheels to properly strip them, and either way, your bearings will not like it if left in.

Yes of course the bearings have to come out. They wouldn't be able to handle the temperature it takes to powder coat. They are at the powder coater now.
Should be ready in a week and a half.

Great to hear.
Post some pictures. I'll post some when I get everything back together.
