Default Chrome or not to Chrome

2014 Rushmore going to change front suspension, I know if I want chrome lowers this is the time to do it. My problem is I had an 06 Ultra Classic chromed to the hilt looked awsome but a pain in the butt to keep clean took me hours. The Rushmore I have was going to be cumfort and power, what would you do Chrome or not to chrome?

Chrome the Factory stuff pits here in Florida over time no matter what you do. I wish I had the funds I would do mine also.

I had EVERYTHING chromed on my softail and like you, regretted it as it took forever to make it look good.

On my Streetglide I had chromed lowers and cowbells put on before I brought it home. They are so much easier to clean the bugs and grime off of then the raw aluminum ones. As for additional chrome--I stopped after the windshield trim.

Go ahead and chrome the front forks while you have it apart.

For something different I plan to do chrome scalloped cowbells and leave the lowers bare alum if and when I get the nerve to take my front end apart. For me a little bling here and there but leave some contrast, not too much bling. And yes, chrome lowers are a pain in the **** to keep looking good, had them on my FXR.

Here in the warm dry climate, chrome is easy to take care of and clean

Chrome it out...I did and swapped out the chrome gizmo beneath the headlight from a StreetGlide Special. Chrome on a Limited, painted on the SGS. Kinda unique for a limited and breaks up the chrome a bit. My chrome one was all peckered up from an attach with a gravel truck in Colorado anyway.

Factory painted and matched from HD from Surdyke $100. Got it in one week...

BTW, Progressive Monotube ROCK!
