I do not think the infotainment system has a video format of any kind to read it..

As mentioned, the HD Infotainment system isn't a video player.

You can run an audio signal through it to get sound out of your speakers.
But there isn't any kind of video input/output, so nothing will display on the screen.

It shows album art, so I wonder how difficult it would be for H-D to make it video capable?

From the looks of things... Probably easier than the Bluetooth HSP that many of us would like to see...

I bet there is a law against it as if it played video you could watch it while driving. As in a RV there would also have to be a lockout feature. Given all that, I doubt Harley would if they could due to the liability.

There are laws in some states that prohibit a DVD/video from being placed in an area that can be seen by the driver. That is why most DVD players that you see in vehicles are in the back seat for the kids/passengers and can not be viewed by the driver.

Because of this and common sense, liability i don't think HD would ever upgrade/option a video capability for the infotainment system.

There are too many better/safer/reasonable options, lap tops, notebooks, ipads that can perform this function for the traveler when they stop overnight etc.

I know it's not a video but read this thread about an infotainment hack.
