You can run an audio signal through it to get sound out of your speakers.
But there isn't any kind of video input/output, so nothing will display on the screen.

There are laws in some states that prohibit a DVD/video from being placed in an area that can be seen by the driver. That is why most DVD players that you see in vehicles are in the back seat for the kids/passengers and can not be viewed by the driver.
Because of this and common sense, liability i don't think HD would ever upgrade/option a video capability for the infotainment system.
There are too many better/safer/reasonable options, lap tops, notebooks, ipads that can perform this function for the traveler when they stop overnight etc.
