Default When did LED lights become so expensive? Or why?

I just got an email from Custom Dynamics about new product. I opened it right away cause i love their products. I have the from and rear fender lights in black and the Ringz in the front and the Fillerz in the back. So i was excited to see new 7 headlights and driving lights. They look to be very good but as i scrolled down past the price i said to myself "hell no". 439 for the head light and 429 a piece for the spot lights? Now i can do the math and it's 1300.00 for 3 lights? Now i can see it's a good system but that is off the hook. Maybe someday the cost will come down, i have daymakers on there now from the MOCO and they will have to do. Just my rant for today.

Added: I spoke with CD customer support about 2:00 pm today and i was correct, the 5.75 new light they are selling is 429.95 per unit.

You think that's expensive, look at the new JW Speaker 8790:

I admit that even at that price, I am tempted...

My sirus cree LED light for 79 bucks shipped to the house works awesome. No driving lights needed either. Theirs a ring of light around the whole bike to the sides also.

Yes i know the daymakers are LED, maybe i should have made myself more clear. I would like to switch to the black headlights as everything else on the bike is blacked out. That was why i looked with anticipation at the CD email and was surprised by the cost. I just spoke with CD customer support and it is indeed 429.95 per light on the 5.75 lights. So the total is 1300.00 dollars to change to black.

That helps. Harley's would be cheaper. And if you clear $500 on selling your stock set it wouldn't be that painful. Good luck:-)
