Do you have 6.5 navigation, CB, XM/Sirius, anything plugged into the USB drive, Bluetooth device connecting? I "think" the more for it to recognize the longer it takes.

Mine takes substantially longer also. Do you have a jump stick plugged in? I thought maybe that my jump stick with 600 or so songs on it had something to do with why mine takes an estimated 20-25 seconds it seems.

Default Update mistake

Remember, these are just like computer updates that Microsoft or Apple push out on a weekly basis.
Sometimes you just don't want to be the first one to find out the "fix" broke something else.

I never run any kind of system update (Harley, Microsoft, or Apple) until they have been out for a few weeks.
This gives enough time for the early adopters to discover and report any new issues.
Not bike related but I made the mistake on an update for an expensive Nikon camera. I did the update on my camera before researching a bit and after the update rendered a $1500 lens useless. And no way to change it back.

Thank goodness it was a 'cheap' lens, rofl!

6.5
No CB or Sirus.
Phone always connects by BT
Haven't tried a USB stick with my music yet. 90% of time I just use my phone for music.

I had the same question so I tried it real quick.

FM selected at last turn off with no USB drive in radio: 17 seconds
FM selected at last turn off with 600 song USB in radio: 17 seconds
USB selected at last turn off: 26 seconds

That's as far as I got in testing but obviously this whole delay is affected by the USB. Probably scanning it each start up or something.

Don't know if someone here posted this but when I did my update.......that was the only thing I had on the jump stick/thumb drive when I did it. No problems and it took about 45 seconds.

Glad they took care of you!

My lower pods came today, look great, came painted vivid black(gloss black) to match my bike but we will see how they fit sometime this weekend.

Did those new pods help your Boom Radio boot up faster after you installed them?
