The brown truck dropped a pair of these at my front door on Friday. Time will tell..

Thumbs up

I wear these. I got a deal on them at the end of last years riding year. Waterproof, not hot and comfortable to walk around in. Not cheap but I've been wearing them since. http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...formance-boots

I have worn many boots....but this last pair of Bates has by far been the best. Good firm toe and heel. Zip up side held with not having to tie every time. As you said its personal preference and those are mine

Currently using these as my daily beaters - and they are as comfortable as evening slippers and waterproof

Will be buying them again

I've been wearing Altama boots for the last 18 years. Still on 2nd pair. Made in USA. I like my riding boots to be waterproof. These do the trick. I've walked through 7" deep water w/o getting wet feet. Multi days riding in heavy rain w/o getting wet feet. Gortex lined. Come in wide width.

I have very wide feet, so I had a lot of difficulty finding boots that fit. I have a pair of HD-branded boots that were comfortable to ride in, but I couldn't walk around in them for long.

Now I'm loyal to Bates boots, specifically the 8" tactical sport boot with the side zipper. They come in wide widths and are as comfortable as my sneakers.

I also have a pair of Bates waterproof boots. They're a little too warm for hot days, but if there's a good chance of getting rained on, I wear them instead.

Try a Pair of Daytonas. RevZilla carries them very light, strong and comfortable. Very expensive!

Reading through all this, I see a lot of nice boots. One of these days I will try some Chippewa's or a few others.

I currently have a pair of Harley-Davidson Men's Travis 8-Inch Black Motorcycle Boots D96044. HD doesn't make them anymore, unfortunately.

I have an issue with my right ankle due to an injury while in the Navy. Result of the injury is my ankle ligaments are so stretched out that my ankle will roll on me even on a smooth flat surface. So I have to find footwear that has a wide heal base to prevent my ankle rolling. So no ordering boots online, lol! Really sucks because I have two pair of Dan Post Elephant skin boots that I would love to be able to wear again!!!

In any case, the boots I have now are very comfortable when riding, but not so much when standing a lot, but my ankle doesn't roll.

I also like no laces at all. Have had both hips replaced and tying laces sucks now, haha.

Default Highly recommended

I've used these for years. 100K+ miles on the pair and still going strong.

I have been wearing those for 25,000 miles plus the walking around they are great boots. I plan on getting another pair as back-ups for when HD pulls the plug on them.
