Just something to think about when deciding on "steel toe" for MC RIDING boots. Steel toes are for construction sites, dropping a cinder block on your toe, etc. A steel toe on a riding boot involved in a crash can literally chop your toes off. I have been in 3 serious motorcycle accidents (none of them were due to negligence on my part), the boots have never been an issue until this last one. Hit a deer and when it went under the rear wheel, kicked me up off the seat and I came down feet off the boards. Right side foot landed on pavement and was immediately wrapped up under the floorboard, boot folded right where a "steel toe" would be. Result was a snapped big toe in two places. If I had on steel toe boots, I would have no toes on my right foot.

Just for what it's worth.

I swear by bates boots. they sell a lot of boot to cops and military personnel. their boots have two things I like, they run big (good for this sized 15 feet of mine) and they feel like tennis shoes.

Seriously try them out.

Bates tactile sport very comfortable light weight, no need to carry walking shoes anymore all day wearable without any discomfort.

This is a really old review on the Brit firm Altberg, I had a pair made in 2007 but my feet grew a bit so had another pair made at the end of last year. They are superb

Sales lady at Sturgis in 2013 recommended these.

She said the Riddick's will make you feel like you are walking on a Tempur-pedic mattress. She was right. Most comfortable footwear I own, bar-none.

As far as boots go, Bates are my favorite. As said, light weight, and fit like a tennis shoe. On the plus side the gortex has never let me down.

The soles on my bates are pretty worn, and I decided to try Carolina boots (generic gortex) and although they are comfortable, they do not keep my feet dry .

My true preference for riding thou are chuck taylors.

Default Riding Boots

Timberland Pro Direct Attach 8'' soft toe boot, waterproof and insulated.
They are great for a short guy like me too a they have a near 2'' heel on them - helps keep my bagger upright. https://www.timberland.com/shop/mens-pro-best-sellers
