Default How do you document your service

A lot of folks do their own fluid changes to save money. I am probably going to do the same with some oil that I have in the garage. I do not have the receipt for this oil so I was wondering, how do I document that I have done that part of the service if some issue comes up with my bike?

I document the work in an Excel Spreadsheet and maintain the receipts for the consumables used.

Id say go buy new oil and take the old stuff and put into something old. Its cheap enough not to worry about. Keep the receipt and i write the mileage down on everything with date I did the maintenance on it.

I am old fashioned. I use a pen and write it in my service records pages of my manual.

That's a nice spreadsheet in that post. Only problem is it doesn't go past the 50K service interval, lol

Excel spreadsheets are great. I actually made myself an MS Office Access database years ago. I track mtce, mileage, tread depth, cost, as well as a separate form for accessories. I had an office job for a while and creating MS Office databases was a big part of it.
