Haven't seen the need to install one after 8 years and 91000 miles, when I change mine, I tilt the bike and when it quits dripping I straighten it up a few and tilt it back , let it drip some more abs that's good enough fir me....We dump syn oil at 5000 miles which is wasted anyway so the leftover stuff in there should technically still have plenty of life left in it, specially mixed with fresh stuff...
It,s a feel good product.

I bought the scavenger late last year.
I used it for the first time this week, I was surprised by a few factors that came into play. First, they tell you to remove the plug that is never to be removed next to the eng oil drain plug. Then plug a full quart of oil into a bottle connected by hose to the 'forbidden' plug. Then with startup I was really surprised at how fast that clean quart gets sucked into the motor and how slowly the crud comes out before the clean. Didn't spill as much this time around. SLowly getting better at that,

I bought one these and used it yesterday on my Fatboy. It was very simple to use and I didn't mind the extra step or two. I agree with many that this is probably a feel good product and a little old and new mixed oil not a big deal. The reason I bought it was I thought my oil was unusually dirty, as in blackest of the black after only a couple miles after my last oil change. It didn't look right to me so I bought the kit and flushed all that crap out.
