Scavenger Total Oil Change System

Is that safe to do? How about the pump? I don't know any one that has tried this. I find it interesting.

Well this thread did not go the way I thought it would. I honestly thought everyone would think this was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Its simply is not logical to me that there is no advantage to removing contaminated oil from the system when servicing a bike. We warm the bike up so all the particles are in the oil, we change the oil filter to remove old oil, why not get all the old oil? We are not talking about a few ounces, it's 2/3rds of a quart. More than the filter holds. The only possible argument I can see is if the product does not work as advertised.

It never does go the way the OP in a Scavenger Thread thinks it will. It's been beat to death and despite what side of the fence you reside on, Harleys have been going down the road without it for over a century.

If I understand correctly, you take your filter off, drain the oil as specified in the manual, then attach filter scavenger puck. Put 3 quarts of oil in tank, run a clear line to a jug, then start engine and run until the fluid runs clear?
I know who invented the scavenger... the oil companies!
I believe there is 28 or more ounces of "dirty" oil coming out, but that is only because the fresh oil is becoming dirty as it passes through.
There are only a couple of ounces of old oil left in the sump. Period.
You THINK there is more because you do not understand fluid dynamics. The laminar flow of the clean oil is only picking up a portion of the dirty oil as it flows by...
I understand fluid dynamics, it is part of my education and vocation of the past 20 years hydraulic fracturing and high pressure pumping.
Try this:
Get a clean kitchen glass, put 2 oz of milk in it. Place it over a kettle in the sink. Turn the water faucet on, and run until all of the milk has been removed from the glass, without dumping, just let it flow over the edge until it is clean and clear. Now measure the water in the kettle. How much is there? 2 oz? Or more?
That doesn't mean there was more than 2oz of milk to begin with.
...and this experiment is with a low viscosity fluid...

I am saying you could absolutely drain until all of the oil is gone, and use this product and still get "dirty oil" just from the fresh "rinsing" the walls.
I'm also saying I'll save my money and not waste oil.
