If you go with Progressive Mono-tubes you don't even need that tool, just a measuring cup to get the correct amount (I think it was either 300 or 400 ML)

On installing the front wheel...

Remember when you had to insert a 7/16" drill bit in the axle hole for alignment? Wonder what happened to that...

Now... I NEVER have ridden a bagger with an upgraded suspension, so the only comparison I have right now is stock oil vs SE Heavy and its a HUGE improvement.
I have owned baggers with SE fork oil, another with Progressive monotubes. My Legend AXEO front end upgrade is the only one that amazed me. Not saying Progressive or the heavy fork oils don't improve the front end, because they do. This setup is just that major. IMHO. Check out the Legend suspension web site and the AXEO reviews. Regardless of what brand upgrade you choose, ( if money is no object. The Ohlin front end kit gets real high reviews on this forum) I cannot imagine taking the front end apart without upgrading the suspension. I'm sure others would agree.

All that just for some chrome? You have too much time on your hands.
Good how to write up though.

Yup, I just did the same thing plus some. I was going on 25,000 miles so I rebuilt my forks, dissembled, cleaned, inspected and greased my steering head bearing, and replaced my front wheel bearings (right front discovered going bad when removing the wheel).

The tear down is bit more involved on the batwing faring style bikes... but not too bad... just gotta unplug all the harnesses and remove the inner faring as you did...

Looks killer by the way!

Thanks and yes it made a big difference. I didn't go with a heavier oil or anything, just a straight forward rebuild. The roads in my area of Florida aren't that bad.
