My 2 cents............ I wouldn't run it for 5000 miles in the desert heat, but in Minnesota, I'd run it for 3K earlier in year or later in year and not lose any sleep over it. In the middle of MN summer, if I ran it for 5000 miles I'd lose a tiny bit of sleep

Of course it did.

Every "Oil Thread" does.

You will never get a conclusive answer on any topic related to oil.
There are just too many opinions, and that is all you will ever get.

There is nothing wrong with the Brand of oil your asking about.

Even the wt your asking about will not cause your engine to self destruct.

Most wouldn't run that weight (myself included), but it really isn't going to destroy your engine either.

I will once again challenge anyone to show me documented failure due to using "the wrong oil".

Some oils are better than others, I, for one, like to use what I figure is the best....

...but that doesn't mean Big Joe's Recycled Lube brand 10w30 won't work.

You know after reading all of the posts on this thread and using a little bit of that common sense that I have (or whats left of it), I have pretty much decided to use the oil I have. If it runs hot or I get engine pings (which I doubt), Ill change the oil again.
