RGS Reluctant Shield Change

RGS Reluctant Shield Change
For the most part I'm really happy with my new RGS as it sits but I added a few doodads to my dealer delivered RGS that I haven't had a ride on yet. So between this forum and starring at it with anticipation I'm looking at what else I can do and from the extensive reading I have done here using the search feature a windshield change is probably a good idea. I hate the idea of changing out the stock shield love the way it looks so I'm focused on what the new one will look like but also want it to be effective. I'm 6'2" inseam is about 34" and the shield that from my research will look good and be effective is Cee Baileys 13" sport model in dark grey tint. Freedom Shields Sport Touring is a second choice but have read and think I can see in pictures that their dark tint has a bit of an amber look to it which I think would not compliment my Denim black RGS. Any other suggestions and pictures would be appreciated. Living in Canada returning a wrong shield would be a pain and expensive so I'm trying to get the right one the first time.

I'm same size as you but use my bike for touring so desire a bit taller shield. Couple of shields to consider. Many like the Klock Werks Sport shield which I think is 14". I ran a Freedom Shield in 14" for a while and liked it but have now changed to a bit higher to get less wind hitting the top of my helmet. Freedom has a return policy that their shields can be returned if protective wrap has not been removed. Also Freedom now has a medium tint that in my opinion looks really good on darker bikes.
Also if you have not discovered it yet the windshield screw inserts cross thread very easily and not an easy method to replace them so be very careful putting screws back on. Start by hand.

I'm the same size as you. Called Freedom Shields & John recommended a 15" shield. I felt that was a bit tall, as most of my rides are only around 150 miles a day & I like to stretch out and lean back when riding, so I went with a 14". Works fine, looks good, but I can see where if I toured a lot, day after day, I'd be better off with the 15". I purchased this shield with the dark tint before they came out with their sport model. I haven't noticed any amber color in this shield. Maybe the sport tint is different.
