You certainly can do a dyno run without a tuner, just can't make any adjustments
I'm not going to waste my time if you don't know the difference between a dyno run and a dyno tune.

+1 on the FP3. The maps you download were originally created on a dyno anyway. Then, you do your autotune and no need for a dyno. The dyno will cost $300 - $400 after you purchase the tuner. The FP3 is all you need if you are just doing stage 1 and maybe a cam upgrade. I'm real happy with my setup.
Connect it to your bike and basically, just open the app on your phone and click on a map that you want to start with, hit auto tune and hit start. It's really that easy.
