Default What's To Soon To Stage I?

Got a new Ultra a few weeks back and it's kind of a slug so I have got it all together to for a Stage I Intake and exhaust. I've put the air cleaner on without the tune (Fuel Moto) and that is working great and noticed an immediate response. I'm itching to put the catless header and slipons on but thinking I should wait for the 1000 service to go any further. I'm not quite officially broken in yet at just 350 miles, but the temptation is high. Should I medicate?

I had mine done before I even rode it out of the showroom. They put a canned sort if rich tune on it. When I went in for my 1k service, they dyno'd it and all is good..

I wouldn't wait...

I agree with above....do the stage 1 but hold off on a dyno tune until it has some miles. That's "if" you feel you need to do a dyno tune. Personally, with the flash tuners available now, I think a dyno tune is a waste. Do one more mod to the motor then your dyno tune is history anyway. A flash tuner can remap your ECM with the newly added mods as you go.

My bike had 28 miles on it when I changed the pipes, a/c, and tune.

I'd get a tune on that bike though if you changed the air filter. It runs too lean from the factory and just made it run leaner.

I have a PowerVision initially from my Street Bob which is dyno'd. I bought the additional bike license, the intake\exhaust and tune for the Ultra from Fuel Moto. Getting chilly here in N. Texas, but there will be plenty of riding before Spring.

I've had slight decal popping occasionally, but I have been riding very easy too. This does confirm for me that I need to go ahead put the exhaust on it and the tune.

Its only too soon when you buy all the parts without knowing if you can afford to purchase the bike.

Yeah pretty much the only "too soon" is before you own the bike. I am still trying to decide what I want on mine otherwise it would already be done.

If you are going to use an Auto-tune then you can't do it soon enough. If you plan on having it dyno's then I personally waited until I had 1,000 miles.
