Default infotainment map upgrade with garmin map?

I am wondering if anyone has tried or have the answer to this. Can you upgrade the Harley Infotainment System using a Garmin Map update? I have a stand alone Garmin Nuvi and get free lifetime map upgrades and was wondering i can download that map update into the harley?

That free lifetime map upgrade only works on the device it was registered too.

Also, the HD unit isn't a "Garmin" device, so even if you could buy a Garmin map, it isn't going to work on the HD unit.

No easier than trying to use your lifetime maps on your friends Garmin - as stated, Only for that ser # device - when you plug it into your computer - Garmin knows exactly what device it is AND its ser # - big brother is Always watching

I Love my Garmin Zumo - I have it mounted on my handle bars and run it thru the Info system. People ask me Why? Because I really know the Garmin AND I can take it off and into the motel or restaurant and work on it - looking for what ever...

BTW - people have run their 'Nuvi's' on their bikes - however, they were not really made for motorcycles and the weather and vibrations can and will sooner or later effect them

My 590 is on the bars as well, no problems what so ever. Just have to buy the small harness for under the fairing.
PS: I need to up my sig pic to one that shows all the bling that I couldn't afford that is now on the bike.. LOL

harley0711 - can you better share what you mean by - run it through the info system.

Are you saying that what is on your Garmin can be seen on the info system and simply that the audio comes across

Thanks

I run Google Maps audio from my iPhone thru the speakers when traveling long distance in unfamiliar territory. I can either listen to music or not, but when the app needs me to turn, I hear all the instructions loud & clear
