HD Fork Fangs/wind deflectors
Ok so it's been a it chilly here in N Texas lately and I was at the dealer getting my 14SGS saddle bag retaining pins replaced under recall and had few minutes to wait.
While looking around I found the chrome fork deflectors and decided WTH. Took them home and installed (dealer wanted $54.00 for labor).
Rode today and must admit they really do reduce the wind that was coming under the fairing and around the tank and blasting me in the neck and face. I aleady have a LRS recurve windscreen and with these on there is no longer any buffeting. Might even be able to ride with my 1/2 helmet and not shake my eyes out of my head. Lol
Not sure if I can used to the look but in the colder weather they will stay in place.

On the 14 Street Glide installation is pretty simple but i did learn a trick on the first side.
1. Remove the 2 acorn nuts that hold on the turn signal.
Unplug the turn signal and remove.
2. Remove the bottom bolt that the acorn nuts screwed onto and loosely install the the deflector using the bottom hole and installing the bottom bolt (just a couple of turns in).
3. Now remove the top bolt and feed the wire connection through the whole in the deflector and connect it back up to the harness.
4. Since the deflector is still loose it is easy to fit the wire connector and wiring back through the whole and align and install the top bolt.
5. Turn on ignition to make sure the turn signals are working correctly.
6. Before tightening slide the deflector as far forward as possible (for clearance on the crash bar) and reinstall the top bolt and tighten the top and bottom bolts to spec. (may want to use blue loctite)
6. Reinstall the turn signal with the acorn nuts and tighten to spec. (may want to use blue loctite)
The reason not to remove both bolts completely is when I did this the first time I had trouble realigning the bolts to the holes. By leaving the top bolt in until the bottom is replaced keeps everything aligned.
It is very easy to do and takes approximately 10 - 15 minutes tops. Unless you do not have tools and minor mechanical experience I cannot see paying the dealer $56.00 for labor.
Also after riding all day yesterday the looks are growing on me. Since I don't have chromed lowers it puts a little shine on the front. lol

I installed some H-D Adjustable Air Deflectors that attach to the lower Fairing like the ones
that come standard on the Limited. I did have a set of Fangs on a 07 Road King, and they
worked well on it. I do like the Air Deflectors on my Street Glide, and they are almost invisible
and work well for me.
