Default Battery dying ?

I have a 2014 Street Glide Special , didn't ride like i usually do this past season , battery went flat a couple times after sitting for a couple weeks will not start . I have been told the draw on the rushmores and the infotainment is the cause and they need to be run or have battery tender on em . I am not disputing that , just on my last 3 i have never ran a tender or anything on them , always fired up after sitting . guess the fix is get my *** out riding more too !!

Each time you let the battery go flat it shortens the life of the battery. There are power draws on the battery when the bike is parked, so after a time, the battery will become discharged. Either ride more often or use a battery tender. Try recharging your battery but don't use a tender, they won't bring severely discharged batteries back. If it won't take a charge you may need a new one.

Is your bike still under warranty? Let the dealer check it out - and, get a new battery

Check all your connections, battery cables, grounds...ect..
You probably need to charge your battery then load test it to see if it's still good. Get a battery tender and hook it up whenever you park the bike in the garage. I have 3 bikes in my garage right now and all three are hooked to a tender.
Good Luck

Most of the old school riders I've talked to said they always have theirs on a tender. It's peace of mind. I didn't have one and my battery **** the bed on me. I've had a tender ever since. They're only about $25 or cheaper shipped.

Replaced my battery a month ago on my 2014 Ultra Classic. Died after months of weak restarts. Even while always on the tender.

Then I considered that my ride was built in July of 2013 and sat at the dealer for 18 months.

Covered under warranty.

BTW one day it wouldn't restart after an initial warmup. Charged it for a day and did the same thing. Dealer said load test came back 5 volts. Just glad it was in between trips and able to have my dealer take care of it.

I got a bike wash and a two day loaner while they checked it all out. I was really happy to take back the 2011 Ultra Classic they loaned me. I compared the fact that my Rushmore was a much better ride than the old design.
