Default Rushmore Road King Handlebars

Hey all,

First let me say its been a while since I've been active on here. Been overseas working for the government for the past three years. One of the toughest things was not having a bike. Just got back in July. Just bought a new 2015 Road King and hope to be picking it up next weekend.

On to my question:
When I was in the dealer the other day, I saw two 2016 RKs side by side..one had the heritage style bars and one had what seemed to be similar bars..but a little lower..the sales guy and I both measured them and the higher looking ones were higher by about two inches. Definitely different bars. He said one of the parts guys said the 2016 have different bars from the 2014 and 2015 Rushmore RKs. Said the one with the slightly lower bars is most likely an early 2016 production model. Can that be right? I was under the impression that all Rushmore 2014+ came with the same heritage style bars.

Can anyone with knowledge of this confirm? I'm wanting the higher bars and hope I won't need to pay for them and have them installed. My bike is a locate so I haven't seen it in person yet.

Thanks and its good to be back and active on here..

Looks like they're the exact same part number.

Slight digression from the original post but I think still relevant

I have a '14 Road King and did not like the original bars thought they were too tall

Ended up going with a 2013 Road King handle bar and have liked it much better

Wish I felt the same. :-) I prefer the higher bars. Hoping someone with chime in to confirm there is or isn't a change from 2015 to 2016.

Well, I already chimed in to confirm for you that there is no change in any of the three years. They all use part number 55800099.

The little blue letters in my above post is a hyperlink.
