My first bike with a hydraulic clutch, my 2015 FLHTK, seems kind of hard to pull. Are these clutches supposed to be any easier to pull compared to cable clutches? My clutch had the recall fix done and it felt the same before and after but, I rode a cable clutch bike the other day and the clutch was very easy to pull.

 

Mine is harder too, a lot harder then my '06 cable, a real biatch in bumper to bumper we see here in NY. I'm kinda used to it now.

 

I think the one on my '15 feels about right. It's about the same as the cable clutch on my '94 Dyna, maybe a tad lighter.

I've noticed on my bike that the clutch lever was positioned a little too far out with respect to the grip, so when I actuated the lever I was gripping it farther up the lever than I prefer (making it feel harder to squeeze). If I move my hand to the outside the grip and squeeze the end of the clutch lever, it is (of course) much easier. If yours is the same, perhaps slide the housing/assembly a little farther inward so you are squeezing more toward the outside end of the lever.

 

I have a few bikes new on feels about the same as my cable bikes, maybe its how you have it positioned on the handle bars?

 

I don't have lumberjack hands so I'm usually grabbing the lever around the half-way point too, never thought about moving the whole assembly. Gonna give it a try, thanks!

 

My advice, switch back to a cable. If you don't like it now you really won't like it when the plates start to wear and you have no way to adjust it.

 

You can't adjust hydraulic brakes either... kind of the point.

 

The hydraulic clutch fluid fills up the difference for the wearing of the plates just like hydraulic brake systems do so the adjustment stays constant.

 

Oberon adjustable levers seemed to help mine.
