2015 Radio Question
OK,, got my 2015 - as all of you know when I start up the bike - I have to hit (Accept) THEN it goes to the Radio in the ON position - Each time I have to Turn the Radio OFF - been reading in the 'book' LOL - So how do I turn OFF the radio and keep it OFF - so when I hit the accept button I just get the clock??? Believe it or not - really do not listen to the sound system all that much - I find this trick annoying, lol

Power OFF (page 18)
Press and hold the power/mute switch for 3 seconds to turn the system off. The screen goes black and the clock is displayed. The radio remains in the sleep mode and continues to draw current while the motorcycle is turned on or in the accessory mode. The radio will Not reinitialize Unless the vehicle is turned off for up to 30 seconds????
So even though the top paragraph says it will stay off IF turned off..
It looks like it will start back up again????
I agree - Boom sys is way too much work and I am betting it will Not last the long haul?

Almost 2 years into my Limited and that part the infotainment system still remains as quirky as ever. I've tried a bunch of different things on shutdown and start-up and the system still does what it wants to do. I just accept it for what it is, when I start the bike I push the buttons, get it to USB to key my music and off I go. If it starts at USB (maybe one time in ten) I figure that's a bonus and it's gonna be a good day, .

This is how I can get mine to stay off when I turn the bike back on;
Press-hold the power button for 3 seconds, the radio will shut off.
Turn the run switch off
Turn ignition switch to off
As stated above these radios are quirky (I have another name for it, crap) but this sequence seems to get the radio to stay off. Keep in mind that if the radio remains off when you fire the bike up again you will still have to hit the "accept" button which will NOT be visible with the radio off, give it about 10 seconds.

Ya got that right!!
+1 on that! Too bad they don't offer these bikes without it.
The folks who want and like having these electronic googaws on their bikes should certainly and absolutely have the opportunity to have it and enjoy using it, but the rest of us should be given the choice of not having it, or paying for it, on the model of bike we want.
What Scott14SG said will work most of the time. I use his method, other than using the kill switch to shut the bike down. I just use the ign. switch for that and it works fine.

So, when you do the above - the bike is parked - what sequence do you do when you start it so the radio does NOT come on??
As stated above IF I turn the ing on and WAIT those 30 seconds - it works... are you saying the same but in a different way or am I missing something.. I agree, Boom is just 99% more that I will ever use
Hey,,, does anyone know IF the extended warranty covers the BOOM??
