Question Heated Grip Upgrade Options for 2014 Limited???

I love the look and feel of the new heated grips on the 2016 CVO Limiteds and Road Glides. These are internally wired just like my OEM heated grips, but mine are dog-butt ugly and I'd like something flashier. Does anybody know if CVO grips are plug-and-play with the 2014s??? The HD catalog's listing of heated grips say none are for internally wired bars, so I figure the CVO route for upgrading is the only game in town.

The part numbers for the 2016 CVOs are 56100097A (left), 56100096(right), and 56100094(end caps).

Inquiring minds would like to know. Thanks.

My parts lady said stay away from the P&A heated grips and save my money, keep the ugly *** stockers. She said they get WAY too many returned because they fail...I kept my stockers...hate 'em but they still heat. Put on one set of bars and fight feeding that mess of wire one time down through and I'm not ready to do it again...

Default Heated grips

The service guys at my local dealer said the same thing. The stock grips are the only ones that seems to last.

What the OP is referring to is not P&A rather they are stock on CVO models and if I may ad, they are working perfect on my FLHXSE CVO they are not standard on Street Glide CVO's yet match perfect so I invested and yes they are working well

Not all fails in first few months but after couple seasons we have few failed in our group but for some reason only the right side one and majority on the female riders because they use the crap out of anything to keep them warm. Good thing is if they fail you don't need to buy both Moco will sell you either side one at a time.

I too want to know if the CVO heated grips are plug and play with my 2014 FLHTK heated internally wired grips. Maybe I missed the answer.

For those who have had them "burn out", what is the warranty on the grips?

I live in GA and use the heated grips a handful of times a year so I'm will to take the risk to gain the good looks.

Thanks in advance.

HD would have had to change the TGS and the handlebar switch packs for them not to be compatible.

There are easier ways to do the wire fishing, and the reason the right fails most of the time is corrosion in the connector for the right in the side of the left one.

The way I fished the wires down on normal diameter bars was tying a nut to a string, use that to pull them all down together with dielectric grease as a lubricant. I used some rubber grommets in the end holes to protect the wires wile pulling them down since I used a stepping drill bit to make mine internally wired.

That was 2008, plenty of rain, and everything works still. Before that it was the damn connector going bad that caused the right grip to go bad all the time.

2014 SG standard, when new at dealership, I ordered Limited heated hand grips, and dealer installed at
1000 mile Service. The left side controller unit stopped working a month ago, it was replaced last week.
This is my third Harley with heated hand grips, and the first that have failed. Extended Warranty paid off.
