Fob don't work every time have to have to put pin# in to start bike, have 2 fobs both doing same, tried new battery, don't know if its warranty item, will take it in tomorrow be hard to find if all is working when you get there, anybody had this, what was the fix ?

Do you happen to have the fob in the same pocket as your phone when it happens? If so, put them in different pockets to see if the issue remains. Mine interferes with the fob.

 

If you have the HD siren with your security system, check the antenna wire that connects to the siren. Should be a thin black wire. My understanding is that it can not ground against any metal parts as per the installation instructions.

If you park it near an auto with a similar hands free RF signal it can happen. Rarely, I'll just roll it back a few feet.

 

Just cycle your ignition switch once or twice, it should work then. Mine does the same thing of I've moved the bike around without starting it. Or if I played with the infotainment system with the ign. on acc. Good luck!

 

Have you tried using the second fob, that came with the Bike ? Plus all of the above suggestions.

 

Just checked and the security system without the siren has an antenna also but its not a wire. Take a look at the antenna and see if the connection is good. The antenna is part #3

I had the same thing happen with my brand new bike, switched to my other fob and hasn't happened since. I actually just started down the road one day with the original fob and it displayed that I didn't have the fob as I was riding.

 

Should be under warranty
