Default Radio volume fluctuating

Does anyone else have issues with the volume fluctuating randomly on their radio? Say at 80 on the highway it will sound great for a little bit but then get really quiet and bounce back and forth from loud to quiet. Boom 6.5 on my 15 RGS. Did it on software 1.18.1 that was on the bike when I got it, does it on software 1.19.1 which I loaded yesterday. Did it with stock speakers, does it with new hogtunes speakers (although they sound better when the volume works) also it does it when listening to the radio and it has happened when listening to pandora via Bluetooth and also music off of a usb stick which rules out crappy antenna signal. Anyone have anything on this? I love this bike compared to my 2010 I traded but this volume issue is driving me nuts!

I don't seem to have that problem with my bike. Are you wearing a headset? If so, check your vox, perhaps you are either speaking or the wind if hitting the mic - making the bike think you are talking. When this happens, it lowers the radio/music vol.

My 15 RGS does the exact same thing and the radio is pretty much worthless when riding.

Turn off Nav prompts and/or intercom if you have it. As said above, turn VOX to less sensitivity for intercom. The CB will also interrupt the audio system for those that have a CB. If the volume for any of those 3 features is turned down low, all you will notice is that the music will intermittently drop down low while that feature cuts in. Since you have an RGS, it'll be the NAV prompts causing this.

No I'm not wearing a headset. If so, I doubt I would have this issue. It is probably the most frustrating thing about this bike considering it sounds great for a few seconds then gets quiet again. Might ask the dealer but I'm sure they'll tell me it's fine.

Interesting. I'll have to check and see how to do this. I'd be pretty happy if that was the issue!

never had the issue with the WB, but the nav prompts are an issue. Turn them off and you should be golden.

Yeah that nav prompts drove me nuts till I figured out what I did. Finally dawned on my that the only time I had the fade out thing happening was when I was moving. I'd listen to the music while parked to try and figure out the problem- no cutout. Once I was rolling, cut out. Finally the light went on and I got it.

I'm not sure that the nav prompts are an issue. When I am using the nav and a prompt
Comes up, it is always plenty loud.
