Default Harley audio software nightmare

I have a 2014 Ultra Limited and noticed that the radio face plate was starting to crack above the silver name plate. Went to the dlr and they took pictures and said they would order a new radio for me under my warranty. Almost two weeks later I receive a call from the dealer that the replacement radio is in and would I please call service and make an appointment to get it install ASAP. Today was my appointment , bright and early to wait for the bike (maybe an hour job) 3 hours into it they could not get the navigation or CB radio to be visible on the radio so they call Harley...............HERE IT COMES..........HARLEY sent out new software for the dealer computers last week to include the 2016's and this software is not complete and they have deleted the functions to set up Nav and CB so when the dealer gets the fix from Harley I will need to drive back to the dealer on my dime (1/2 days work and 150 miles round trip)..YOU WOULD THINK THAT HARLEY WOULD TEST THE SOFTWARE PRIOR TO SENDING IT OUT! How can they continue to be this stupid/irresponsible ?

Software?? You have to test and verify that??

Not sure what you expect, it took them 20 years longer than anyone else to finally quit using carburetors, give them 10 years and they'll get this worked out too.

Lol. After 2 years of suffering with their R&D by the consumer method, now this!

I'd probably be a little more sympathetic if you didn't have that GTL in the garage

I took mine to the dealer the have it flashed for a new aftermarket amp. Didn't do it the way I told him and now the auto volume doesn't work. He'll try again for another 50 bucks. But not on my bike

Did Harley not train anyone on how to use the machines???

You can change radio in under one hour. I changed one from the 4.3 to the 6.5.

I pulled this one out to take pictures of the labels , had it out and back in in 45 min... The problem the dealer had was Harley knew the software was screwed but hadn't sent memo to dealers so dealer didn't know if they did something wrong or the new radio was bad.....

I see automotive updates weekly to fix something screwed up in the last update, no matter how much testing something is wrong. Mike
