Default Motor options 120r

Cheaper option that will really wake up your low to mid range is the woods TW-222 can its a torque monster in the low to mid range and is CHEAP compared to a full build or motor swap.

I recently did a 120R upgrade... with all of the haters saying this and that about the motor. Don't let the warranty issue scare you away from one hell of a beast. This motor has more power than most riders need. My install was on a 2010 street glide. At 80MPH it really could use a 7th gear. From what i have read on the 120ST is its really a 107 motor not a 120R 2200CC engine. Either way i am sure you read through all the BS on what you should and shouldn't do. I would suggest a oil cooler with either motor that has a fan or fans.

agreed, i don't understand what kind of fairy dust the 107" uses to make everyone believe it has more potential then a 120".

the 107" provides more bang for the buck, but lets not pretend that it will beat out a 120".

Judging by your stated wants I would highly recommend installing a set of TTS-100 cams along with a tune. I cannot tell from your sig what type of tuner you have but if it is the screamin eagle "street" performance tuner then your bike has never been tuned, only has had a canned map and cannot be tuned with the street perf tuner. My buddy who has a 2014 FLHX has similar upgrades, header pipe, slip ons and a/c, wanted the EXACT same things you want. He is absolutely thrilled with the results. Over 115lbs of TQ with 100lbs of TQ in at 2250rpm, with the TTS-100 cams installed and a tune with a TTS Mastertune. Before you do a 107" or a complete engine swap, I'd try the TTS-100 cams or a set of Andrews 48's and a real tune. You'd be surprised at how well they run. I have a 107" with over 130hp and he has NO desire to go where I have gone, after he rode mine.

Really? I would like to see your resources....

The only differences:

SE259E cams in the 120ST... SE266E cams in the 120R

120R gets .030 perfect fit pushods, billet cam plate and High volume oil pump... where 120ST has standard SE perfect fits, stock cam plate and standard pump...

Bore, Stroke and headwork is identical between the 120R and 120ST

They just made it STREET LEGAL hence 120ST .. they took 'legal' avenues...

Right out of the HD parts book on the motor .... its a 107. SE259E cams is the same cam used in a SE 110 engine set up. Also the 120R has MVA heads. Its not the same motor. If it was (102ST) it would not produce the same numbers nor would it come with a 1 year warranty. Its a marketing game for HD suckers. Stop by the parts department next time your there and ask for the spec sheet on the 107... One really doesn't exist. There is a glossy page with some minor details on the setup. You will have to go down to the small print to see what it actually is.

The only difference between the 120r and 120st is cams. 266 cams in the 120r and 259 cams in the 120st.
Got to love the experts that think a fm107 will run with a 120r.

Anone running that motor on here? Its listed as a race motor. Is it reliable?
What other options are there? I just want a little extra passing power and power to come on low rpms.
Cams seem to raise the lower rpms that are usable.
Thanks
"a little extra power" and the dealer recommends the 120? I would suggest doing research on cams and adjustable pushrods unless you've already done that. In that case a Stage IV might be your next direction.

If money is no object go with the dealer recommendation he'll love you for it.
