Default TPMS will not retro fit to earlier years

Been talking to a dealership owner at the Vegas show. Asked if he could find out if I could add the new TPMS to my 15 CVO. He checked and was told it would not retro to previous years.

So aftermarket is the only option, that is if you rule out a 16 CVO purchase.

I'll stick with my tire gauge.

that figures, yep my tire gauge still works even if it is a PITA to do the rear tire.
Thanks for the heads up

Sitting here thinking about why this couldn't be an add-on.........

Software update, add wheel sensors. Really should be just that simple, IMHO
Yes, the new CVOs have an icon on the gauge that lights up but that's not necessary to get the basic function.

I wouldn't be surprised if this does become available at some point down the road.

LOL, I've been told many times from dealers and owners that such and such won't work, ect ect only to find out that usually they don't know what they are talking about.

You left out the main reason, Harley is in the business to sell bikes, not to keep you happy with your old bike............Lmao
And yeah, I know about their P&A catalogs

^^^^^ and that is about as true as it gets. I'm not gonna trade a year old bike in for one cool feature. Lol. Well that and I prefer my paint color to the new offerings.

Looking at the '16 CVO's makes me happy I bought a '15 CVO a month ago. TPMS is hardly a reason to think otherwise. I don't find it a problem to check tire pressures with a gauge. I have always been a bit skeptical of the accuracy of TPMS anyway.

Now the one thing I did like was the new integrated fob/key. That is nice...and if one has to "keep up with the Jones'" I am sure that is something you can use on an older model.

I'm sure it will work on the previous Rushmore models as long as you have crap load of money to replace all the components needed.

I can't imagine HD missing out on an opportunity to sell an add on part at 400% markup. I would guess it will be available for purchase.
