I test-rode both (well, plus the Street Glide) twice before settling on the RK. Just couldn't get used to all the plastic around me with the fairing, and all the bulk. Love my RK. But that's why HD makes more then one model! And Limited certainly looks great.

 

Well, I just went through your identical dilemma. Last week I had a 2014 Road King that was paid for. No worries, no cares, I just rode. However, I have a neighbor who I ride with and he's a bad influence. He just traded his 2014 Street Glide for a 2015 Ultra. So I start looking....... This Saturday I came home with my 2015 Ultra Limited with .99% financing. The money was the ONLY reason I did it along with the dealership BLOWING OUT the 15's. Mind you, the RK I traded was my 4th Road King and this Ultra is my 4th Ultra. They're both great machines, I'd be happy with either.

 

Generally, everyone believes that what they ride is the best and I am no different. I ride a Street Glide and believe that there is good reason that it is the top selling model in the world. My second favorite is the Road King. It sounds to me like your wife's comfort is the biggest issue so buy a used tour pack off Ebay and get it painted to match your Road King.That way you have the cool looking ride and you can always put the tour pack on if your wife is going along.
