Default what oil? 2014 ultra limited

im sure this has been discussed many times but this weekend i will be needing to do my 1000k service on my new 2014 ultra limited and wanting to figure out what oil im gonna use? i dont mind useing oil from the stealer but i would like to have the option to go get oil when i want and not have to worry about if they are gonna be open. my last bike a vtx 1300 i used valvoline v twin oil and a wix filter. What are your thoughts? Same oil in all three?

Welcome to the forum.
Yes it's been discussed and it will again and again and it will always be the same
Right now my bike has Syn 3 in the engine Formula + in tranny and primary. My wife's bike has Syn 3 in the Eng. Redline in the tranny and Primary. I ran Syn 3 for years in all three holes and with these 2 bikes I thought I'd try something else. I don't hear or feel any difference between any of the oils.
Enjoy the new ride.

There are as many answers as members..

I use Mobil1 20w50 Vtwin, readily available at WalMart for 10 bucks a quart, and as good as any

Primary, use a primary fluid, I use Red Line Primary, but Harley Formula+ is good too

Transmission, I use gear oil in the gear box. My choice is Amsoil 75w-110 SevereGear, but others perform well also.

Unless your bike is a CVO model, it did not come with synthetic from the factory.

What oil you use will come down to a "Personal Choice".
You will never get any kind of majority consensus on any type of forum.
As mentioned, there will be as many opinions as there are members here.

Some don't like using a 20-50 oil in the transmission, even though HD says you can use it in all 3 holes.

I am using Syn3 in the engine and transmission, and Formula+ in the primary.

You can read for days on this subject in Oil and Oil related Topics section of the forum.

Mobile1 15W-50 from Walmart (5 quart jug for 26 bucks).
Formula+ for primary and trans.

The most important thing about oil is to remember oh look a kitty.

I used regular 20 50 for the 1k service. I don't know if it still holds true, but the guys in the know when I was younger recommended using it. At the 5k I switched to the Mobile1
synthetic. On my '00 FLHRCI I run Mobile1 synthetic gear 75 90 in the trans and Mobile1 synthetic 20 50 in the crank and primary. Around 130k miles and no problems.
