HD Accessory harness for Wards fan ?
Just ordered the Wards FCS fans for my RK,
I need the HD accessory Harness. What part is it? Will dealers have it?
Is it the "Touring electrical update kit #69200722" ?
Can't wait to cool down the King in traffic jams!

This is copied off the Wards site:
"2014 and up models don't come equipped with the B+ or Deutsch connectors like previous year touring models, they require the separate purchse of the new HD accessory harness."

You have several options to hook them up:
1) You can order the wards fans with a thermostat. Then you just wire them to "on" power, wherever that is on a 2015, then the fans come on when needed.
Note: the '12 has a B+ connector near the battery for this.
2) or you can use them without a thermostat, wire to the "on" power...and use the little switch on them to turn them on when you want.
3) I'm not sure how the '15 is wired. But, my '12 has an accessory plug near the battery, that is controlled by the 'Acc" switch on the switch panel. I wired mine to this circuit, as well as the Jagg 10 row oil cooler with fan...and turn on the Acc switch when in slow traffic.
Note: this is by no way a scientific study...but with both the wards and Jagg fans on...my ride seems to run at least 25 degrees cooler at freeway speeds. The other day I was cruising at about 75 for about 45 minutes with the fans off. My oil temp seemed to be about 25 degrees higher than when I did the same route, at the same ambient temperature with the fans on. Your mileage may vary.

I found the reference to the B+ connector. It is an optional way to install the positive lead, rather than direct connect to the battery.

IMO best way to hook it up, and the way I did it. Use the thermo switch that comes with the Wards fan and hook direct to the battery. What this does is allows the fans to activate when head temp rises and they will continue to operate until the head temp cools. My fans keep running even after I park the bike, until the head is sufficiently cooled. Instructions that come with the kit are good and anyone halfway handy should be able to install with no problems. You can still turn the fan off with the switch on the fan housing if need be. No need for any accessory harness, fan kit comes complete with everything you need.
